Magma Walkthrough

Magma is an excellent online puzzle game somewhat based on the classic puzzle game Bomberman. There are twenty levels of puzzles to go through; each one more difficult from the last. Unearth hidden stones, avoid the bad guys and return the sacred stones you uncover to their rightful place in order to advance to the next level. It's a fairly basic premise that isn't terribly uncommon in the world of online puzzle games, but that doesn't mean this game is any less fun or any less addictive.

Magma isn't all about flashy graphics or a complicated story. Instead, the creators of this game have focused on developing a difficult action based puzzle game that requires quick thinking and logic. The goal is simply to blow up tree stumps and other obstacles to find the missing sacred stones. You then have to get the colored sacred stones back into their corresponding pillars on the game screen. For as basic as the premise is, actually accomplishing that goal can be quite a task. You need to use logic to determine where the stones are hidden and blow up the obstacle the stones are hidden under. You then need to collect the stone you've uncovered and get it back to the pillar it corresponds with. Often times, that means blowing up even more obstacles. You have to do all this for all of the missing sacred stones; all while avoiding the bad guys and being as quick as possible. If one of the bad guys touches you or you run out of time, your game is over.

In Magma, there are three sacred stones in total, a blue stone, a red stone and a green stone, and each has a color coded pillar that goes with it. The pillar resembles a little black pot that has a band around it with a circle on the front. The band and circle on the pillar will be either blue, red or green to indicate which stone goes in which pot. Along the way you may encounter black circles with a red center. These are power ups and they increase the blast of Magma's bomb. The faster you return the stones to their respective pillars, the more points you will get. You have only four lives to complete the game and lives do not reset at the end of each level so you need to be careful not to lose a life. As the game progresses it gets much more difficult so you'll need all the lives you can save to get through them.

Overall, Magma combines the best aspects of action games with the best aspects of puzzle games making it an intense and engrossing play. Fans of puzzle games will love how difficult the levels are, but be warned - is you get frustrated easily, this may not be the game for you. It certainly isn't easy but it is a lot of fun. You you're used to point and click puzzle games, you might have a little trouble getting used to the controls. Try to stick with it. With a little practice you'll get the hang of it. You'll be glad you did. This game is way too much fun to be missed.
